re: A couple of other Iraqis

The difference is that there are a few thousand of the terrorists and insurgents that your article is talking about, and many millions of the people my article was talking about.

But then your entire position rests on the idea of the head-choppers being Heroes of the People, a view that seems to be exclusively confined to the coffeehouses of Western leftism. Sure as hell I don't see it from most Iraqis.

The election is going to be dangerous, probably peppered with violent attacks on Iraqis going to vote and on voting places, and yet the Iraqis will go out to vote by the millions. Not many are going to bitch about the lines being too long or the ballots being too hard to understand. Probably that country's finest moment in decades.

And you, and people like you, are standing ready to vomit bile all over it. I can practically write the copy now.

Maybe one of the reasons Bush pisses the Left off so much is that for years the Left prided itself on supporting liberation movements around the world. Most of them were simply efforts to install a communist dictatorship to replace whatever abuses were there before.

Between the fall of the Iron Curtain, and what's going on now in Afghanistan and Iraq, conservative leaders have truly liberated more people than the glorious Liberation Movements ever did, or could have.

I take it as a given that you don't know jack shit about my source, so I'll just let the DoD blog crack float by.
