Husband tells me that the new (free) Microsoft spyware will take care of most spyware, BUT, it will not protect you against new incoming spyware viruses. Microsoft will be selling software that will offer protection against spyware.
Ad-Watch SE Plus by the Ad-Aware SE Plus folks does protect against spyware viruses. Those are the two I have now. Some pop-ups still creep in, but that's all I have right now (MUCH better and calmer pc now, btw)
