is to insist that the observed facts must first fit into your convenient preconceptions and prejudices.

You're the cool, logical, practical, no-nonsense engineer, you of all people should be aware of that.

The world is a complicated place; models, theories and interpretations are useful tools but they are just tools, not holy writ.

Remember all those other "Failed Eliminationist Narratives (don't you just love this flashy new lawyerspeak on the Right?); like WMDs, aluminum tubes, Al-Quaeda connections, yellowcake, the Great Global Warming Hoax,
