Took a while, since I had to go through two threads intertwined to follow the conversation.
My point was that "right-wing" terrorism is not the major threat in this country, and leftist groups like the SPLC are sweeping the real problem under the rug.
Somehow you shifted my point to "it's left-wing terrorism that's really the problem," something I never said, and then demanded that I prove it.
This is particularly weird considering the chart I posted which makes it pretty damn obvious what I think the real threat is.
William Saletan wrote this article in Slate about 20 bomb cases acted on by the FBI since the beginning of 2012. Note that not all of the crimes actually occurred in that time period.
An actual list would have been useful, but through the links I was able to isolate 17 of them. Of these, 8 were obviously radical Islamists, one was specifically right-wing (and also shows up in the SLPC document), one was “anarchist,” three were just extortionists after money, one made bombs for hire, and the rest had nothing specific either way.
The real threat isn’t “left-wing” terrorists or “right-wing” terrorists.
But that’s not useful to a political movement whose primary concern right now is eliminating its opposition. They can’t smear conservatism with Islamist criminals.
