What Saddam didn't have, and the US has, is a civil war. He was brutal in his repression of the Kurds and the Shiites, on his way to a more or less unified country.
AND, the US is brutal on it's way to try to create a puppet state. Trying to prevent a civil war.
Just as was Saddam.
Only Saddam did hold the country together, and the US won't.
By destabilizing the country, this is what was predicted by everyone open to information.
At present, according the "The Edge", in the Oregonian, an Iraqi is 2.5 times more likely to die this year than in the last year of Saddam's regime, and 58% of them will die of violence.
What hath George wrought?
