Latest news from Titan a bit confusing

Maybe it's my lack of scientific background, but I'm a bit confused by the latest news from Titan. On the one hand, some articles seem to be indicating that Titan is dry, at least momentarily, and that the dark areas are not liquid. Yet one of the scientists says it may have rained as recently as a couple days before the landing and numerous headlines mention rivers and lakes of natural gas. I mean, is there or is there not current liquid flow or liquid bodies on Titan. Apparently there isn't any doubt that these things occur off and on, but what about right now or the day these images were taken. That's what I'm not exactly clear on. Fascinating stuff though.
