There inexcusable brutalities on both sides, and each is wrong. Beheading is absolutely indefensible, as is invading a country without provocation.
Terrorism is inexcusable, whether it be a suicide bomber, or "Shock and Awe" terrorizing the men, women and children, yes, children, in cities.
Dropping 500 pound bombs in cities is terrorism. Period. "Collateral" damage is non-existent, because it's known that those things will devastate a large area, including many innocent folks.
Now, the fatal flaw.
The US is over there, shoving a puppet government down those people's throats. It's not there by invitation, and the excuses for the invasion were both phony, and are not non-existent.
Those people aren't resisting "democracy", as such isn't being offered. They are resisting a repression where people are 2.5 times more likely to die than in the last year of Saddams regime.
They are resisting a foreign invader, who has no legitimate excuse for staying.
Much as would you and I if Iraqi soldiers where driving camels, or whatever, up and down our streets. And we'd be doing it any way we could, with whatever we had, and including those we deemed collaborators of the Iraqis.

It's superb, except for the fatal flaw.
