I've been accused of being a socialist and left winger for arguing GW is a real issue and a right winger for supporting the war. I see most people here strongly on one side of the other unable to characterize people to the left or the right of them as anything other than FAR to the left or right. I've seen Gary take a strong enough stance to burn in my memory on only two political issues. GW and the war on terror. He sides with the republicans on both. He normally sticks to space. We both did before 911. That event pulled both of us over here for similar reasons. Failures in foreign policy that we accepted in trade off to balance disagreeable Republican policies simply could no longer be tolerated in a post 911 world. Passion on a single issue supported by one party does not imply passion for the party platform as a whole. Their are a whole lot of creationist and anti-abortionist Republicans who never cared about a balanced budget long before the rest of the party abandoned it.

Mark
