Here we are on the verge of elections and you still have no question whatsoever in your mind that there is any hope of an independent government in Iraq.
I strongly suspect the new government will be very independent and want to set a timetable for foreign troops to leave. Probably 4-5 years, once Iraq has built a strong enough army, national guard and police.
