You don't need to purchase drivers for Linux

You don't need to purchase drivers for Linux to burn DVDs. Just down load the software from the web for nothing. That's the beauty of Linux! You're in the driver's seat. However that's also the disadvantage of LInux. You're in the driver's seat so you need to know how to drive. The learning curve is steep. Buy some cheap-and-nasty blank DVDs and plan on making every possible mistake. "Radius" is my favorite brand of cheap-and-nasty DVD-R and DVD+R at about 30 cents each. Keep a Memo file in your root directory describing what you learned as you go through the trial-and-error learning process. Update that file every time you learn something new that actually works. You can refer back to that next time you want to burn DVDs. What DVD burner did you purchase?
