First, you point out that the CIA is correcting its assessment about Iraq's WMD programs. Then, you said, To date, 1,438 American soldiers have died in Iraq because George Bush claimed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction it did not really have. In the meantime, tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians have been killed and insurgent violence continues.
George Bush, like Bill Clinton and a host of other political leaders before him, based his claims on the Iraqi WMD programs on the intelligence reports given to him by the CIA and other agencies. Any decision can only be as good as the information supporting it.
As for the claim of "tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians have been killed", I'm sure you have a credible source for that claim. Tens of thousands is a very high number. Do be sure not to count those insurgents among the "innocent Iraqi civilians". For historical perspective, it might also be good to consider how many thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians were dying at the hands of Saddam's thugs.
