Bernard Haisch is not a particularly credible "astrophysicist." Nor is the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society known for publishing original, peer-reviewed research. Haisch's article is more of an editorial piece rather than a scientific article. Haisch has been associated with outlandish claims about E.T., abductions, crop circles, ghosts, and free energy for a very long time.
One of the biggest errors Mr. Haisch makes is claiming that "our best modern physics and astrophysics theories predict that we should be experiencing extraterrestrial visitation." Actually, its exactly the opposite. The more we learn about the physics of our universe, the more improbable it becomes that E.T. could somehow find us and visit us here on earth. Its not impossible, but its not at all likely.
I could go into this in some detail, but that would steer this bulletin board in a direction it wasn't designed to go. I should note that I had contacted Leonard David to complain about the lack of balance in his article. He indicated to me he had received other similar complaints and was pursuing a counter-article. Haven't seen it yet.
