My position is, and ALWAYS has been, that there IS intelligent life out in the universe, other than us... The question is if there are a few dozen in our galaxy or if there is ETI in only one out of a few dozen galaxies- the fact is we really have no way of knowing. I think we are getting to a point where we can say that simple life is quite likely to be common, but there is no definative proof of this.

The truly odd thing is that the conspiracy theorists seem to think us 'in the system' would fear and cover up evidence of ETI- this is plainly silly... Most of those the conspiracy nuts have grown up on sci-fi, and could never cover that up even if they wanted to.

The FACT is we have no evidence of being 'visited' and from what we know there is no way to cruise through the galaxy- hell not even a way to go to the nearest star in our lifetime.

I support SETI but doubt it will find anything in our lifetime... I would LOVE to see evidence of ETI in my lifetime- that would mean a view change like none ever experienced, and a sign that intelligence can perservere...

The thing I find offensive is humans that blame everything on aliens... crop circles, the pyramids, easter island....and at the same time attribute the most inane BS to aliens... "Hi I was kidnapped by aliens and they stuck somethin' up my butt"
