The blogs (and other internet information sources) don't STOP bad information, they bury it in facts. The crap still stays put in some places, but is corrected in others. Whether corrections are dealt with rationally is one way of judging an internet source.
I give a lot of extra points to those sources who will put up blatant front-page posts declaring they were wrong on something, and wish to say so, and explain why.
