I had a similar reaction to a photo of a room full of children's corpses in that school takeover in Beslan. A little boy lying there dressed only in Underoos flashed so strongly with my own boy, who wore them when he was little and had the same knobby knees, that I was a complete mess for about fifteen minutes. I'd just as soon not link to it.
It's a Dad thing, and exactly the reactions we ought to have.
