The "flake" is a Spirit discovery -- it was part of Peace rock in the Columbia Hills, imaged a couple of weeks ago.

But, gypsum is plausible there too. That seemed to be the leading guess for some of the hexagonal crystal structures near the "flake" in the same rocks.
