I don't understand why new technology must never have rules of good manners attached

Most of these folks have tablemates who they are completely blowing off so they can have their important conversations.

Remember the traditional family value that said it is impolite to whisper to exclude someone from conversation? Or speak in a language that one in a group can't understand?
