Several months ago, Raoul, you stated that the Moon lacks
steep-walled valleys, canyons or cliffs.
That's incorrect.
Schroter's Valley has walls that in some places are STEEP. VERY STEEP.
Schroter's Valley is upto a 1000 meters deep
While omst of the sinewy rill is about 6-10 kilometers wide,
one end of Schroter's Valley narrows to 500 meters.
At 1000 meter deep and only 500 meters narrow at that point, the walls on that part of Schroter's Valley are obviously STEEP STEEP STEEP...
You wouldn't be able to hike down such a slope safely, and you would need
alot of rope to rappel down.
Incidently, I have a suspicion that Nick Hoffman was probably inspired by the deceptively superficial resemblance of our Moon's Schroter's Valley to a terrestrial dry river-course to go on and develop his "White Mars" theory.
I have to correct you, Raoul, about the Moon.
