The Brits in Afghanistan, the Aussies in Iraq, among allies, have pointed out how Americans lack fire discipline.
If the mission is war against Islam, or Iraqis, that makes sense.
If a component of the mission is "hearts and minds", then one would think the military would go about it another way.
Because the most important thing is the mission, not whether anyone in particular gets back. If that were the issue, that the lives of American troops were paramount, then they wouldn't be there.
Given the actions, one must ask what mission is being fulfilled?
Whatever it is, it ain't the welfare of the Iraqi people, that's for sure. It ain't making the world safe from terrorism, that's another obvious reality.

Over, and over and over. Sadly.
