The Brits in Afghanistan, the Aussies in Iraq, among allies, have pointed out how Americans lack fire discipline.

You can add WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Somalia, Panama etc. to that list.

The US has NEVER exhibited fire discipline in any conflict it has ever been involved in. Rather than send a sniper to pick off infiltrators in the jungle, you mow everything down with a squad of Jolly Green Gunships, or a converted Hercules with an anti-tank gun firing white phosphorous.

Then you wonder why the locals are less than pleased to be "saved" at such a cost in collateral damage.

And you wonder why your allies stand well clear when you go into battle?

Maybe if every red-neck kid wasn't brought up in a gun-loving culture, seeing the weapon as his manhood and salvation, and instead had to learn to get by in the world with his charm and persuasion, then maybe the good old US of A wouldn't be the moral quagmire that it is today.

And maybe pigs could fly, too?

(no, NOT carring anti-personnel cluster bombs and other delights of the modern age...)
