Maybe Luddite's have a point after all as Gary suggests. I thought his point about energetic interactions was the standard justification of physicists for everyone to not to worry about their toys, but I did not find the article comforting. It seemed to imply the fireball was ongoing. I thought small blackholes evaporate quickly so I was not concerned about such experiments in the past, but if one is self sustaining in a lab that would be bad IMO as it should keep growing.
