With one exception, the entire world seems to want stability and peace for Iraq. And that included all liberals with whom I'm aquainted.
The exception is the American conservative movement. They invaded, and started slaughtering Iraqis. The chances of an Iraqi dying now are 4 times greater than under the last two years of the Saddam regime.
Second, a CIA financed regime in Iraq is going to be unrepresentative, dysfunctional, and not control much of the countryside. That will be under the control of various religious leaders. (See Afghanistan, where only Kabul and parts of Kandahar are under control of the much ballyhooed central government.)
Third, it will be in power only as it it propped up with the lives of Americans, as well as the treasury, at the expense of more lives of Americans who will not have adequate nutrition or medical care because of the money spent in Iraq.
Excepting by American conservative standards, a "democratic" government isn't propped up with foreign troops, foesn't have it's leadership on foreign payrolls, hasn't been "elected" from a slate approved by foreigners.
One would hope and pray for stability and peace. This puppet regime will not bring it. However, American propaganda will paint a rosy picture.
