With one exception, the entire world seems to want stability and peace for Iraq. And that included all liberals with whom I'm aquainted.

The exception is the American conservative movement.

Well, my counter anecdote is all the conservative, libterarian or right-of-centre types "with whom I'm aquainted" wish nothing more than for a strong, free, confident, prosperous and peaceful Iraq to emerge. The exception "seems to" be the Western (and European) far/hard left movement.

One would hope and pray for stability and peace.

One would counter that true stability and peace requires more than just hope and prayer, but action and resolve.
