re: 4 Approaches for Return to the Moon

There was a generation gap between Peary visiting the north pole on foot, and Amundson visiting by aircraft.
And there was a similar gap between Amundson at the south pole in 1911 and Byrd overflying it by aircraft.

There was 81 years? between the explorer Verazzano visiting the New York area in 1526
and Henry Hudson returning in 1607.
Between Jacques Cartier's exploration of the Montreal area in 1534 and the return to colonize
in 1643, well, you do the math.
And how many generations separated Coronado's 'discovery/exploration of Colorado & New Mexico before they were actually colonized by white-skinned people?

I'm sorry, but we've been mislead by the myth that has grown up since 1972 that colonization is supposed to happen IMMEDIATELY after discovery/exploration.
