The US helped bring freedom to Western Europe, Japan, South Korea, Eastern Europe, and now it appears South Asia and the Middle East. Don't feel any need at all for French approval. It seems it's human nature to resent past help for what you couldn't do yourself. No one likes feelings of inferiority.

Mark
