Regarding Tom Delay and Terri Schiavo
I read today that Tom Delay's father, in late 1988, had been diagnosed PVS and even though the father had no living will, they had life support removed. All they had was the belief that his father would not have wanted to have been kept alive under such conditions. Nothing more than that.
At the time, Mr. Delay was just elected to his third term to Congress. Notably, Congress did not step in that time and interfere with what was a private and personal family decision.
Now Delay calls the removal of life support for Ms. Schiavo an "act of barbarism." Would he use the same terms for the very same choice he and his family made for his father?
