Etched terrain?
A number of new pancam shots from Opportunity at Exploratorium. Check out the middle-distance and horizon shots, not the pebble closeups. Large, exposed areas of rock are showing up. Maybe these are crater-related, but it doesn't look like it from here. Could many of these rock areas breaking through the endless sand create the "etched terrain?" So far, these areas seem intermittent. We'll know more as we go further, I suppose.
