I went to a place where amateur astronomers gather, this week-end (we also had a number of conferences about the notion of time, exoplanets, the Dogons, etc).
A young student got himself a big LX200 and took it with him (rather, a friend took him and his huge box in his car) while I had my ETX90.
It took him at least 15 minutes to assemble his scope (in the dark), and another to put it back . His scope was the center of attention (lots of details on M13); but mine, well I could use it during the day and show the sun through filters!
(There are no good spots currently, but they were quite happy to look at the sun!).
Some of the night shots where from the Canon DSC V1: Cassiopeia, Gemini and Saturn, the Summer triangle (very low still); 15 seconds exposure, 400 ASA.
