No more drinking and driving in Montana
Governor to sign law outlawing a cold one behind the wheel
One of my enduring memories of the late '60s is driving through Eastern Montana at 110 mph in a new Chevrolet station wagon with a six-pack dying a fast death alongside me,
and being at least arguably legal.
Did it many times. When I was working with someone, we used to laugh about what might happen - after all, it was a company car, who cared what happened to it. That our big pink bodies were inside was lost on us.
Between that and the drive-in liquor stores in Wyoming, it was an alcoholics heaven.
Sigh.
Please don't ask me to justify that behavior. I can't. And at the time, for a rather immature person quite fond of drinking, etc., it had it's attraction.
Arf
Mixed emotions at the end of an era. Montana bans drinking and driving.
