Near simutaneous reports of incidents from different parts of the country tell a different story. Green lasers being able to illuminate cockpits and track planes high in the sky. I doubt very much if these were people serendipitously playing with office laser pointers. Why the sudden reports of powerful green lasers back then? Sounds more like they were testing their systems on real people w/o their knowledge. A common practice in the military.
