I'm interested in how efficient this technology is from an energy perspective. Imagine household refrigerators that have no moving parts, so they'd be silent. Without electric motors for compressors and fans, a refrigerator using this technology might use less electricity. Sure, it'd no doubt cost more, at least at first, than conventional refrigerators and freezers, but mass production could bring down the costs pretty quick.
