1. Phase out the mortgage deduction over 10 years
Why subsidize the bank lending industry? Housing prices adjust and property tax valuations rise less
2. No state and local tax deductions
Let folks have a real incentive to care about how much their town or municipality spends. Why should low tax areas subsidize high tax localities?
3. Abolish the corporate income tax (alternatively, but less beneficially, eliminate tax on dividend income)
Avoid double taxation on dividends, plus incentivise corporate earnings to flow BACK into the US, bigtime
4. Increase the SS tax max income to that of congressional salaries and put congress on SS
Nuff said
5. Keep energy taxes high, gasoline at an effective $3/gal and earmark (OK, I'm ignoring reality here) the revenues for competitive prize awards for new energy sources.
A matter of national security
6. Phase out all deductions over 10 years
Why piss away all those hours of potential productivity or quality of life doing tax work? Screw the special interests.
