The statement in question was about something unrelated to this discussion.
Reguardless, admission of ignorance is a strength, not proof of idiocy. It shows a willingness not only to state truthfully ones own state of understanding, but to seek understanding.
We see far too much of the opposite here. Those who already know the truth, who don't question their own assumptions, and dont ask for criticism.
Perhaps they don't understand the beneficial utility of criticism. Or, on some level they know they can't withstand it.
