Problems with timelines...

I'm having some trouble with the passage of time in this series. At the beginning of the movie, Padme tells Anakin she's pregnant, implying that unless she mentioned it, nobody would know. Yet at the end of the movie, she's giving birth. I may have missed something, but where the hell did nine months go in this movie?

Similarly, at the end of the movie, we see the Death Star beginning construction. Yet the ship is only beginning operations when Luke leaves Tatooine years later. So when did they start building Death Star II?
