Even More Quibbles...

Hmmm... so much for "hard SF".

The binary pair is 20 AU apart and has a period of 25.8 years. Easy to find the system mass = R^3/T^2 = 12 Solar Masses!!! Unless it's sitting dead centre in a Dark Matter halo blob there's no way that's possible.

The system is supposed to be 2 billion years old and one of the stars is semi-Sun-like. The other must've massed ~ 10 solar masses and would've been a blue giant before it went supernova 1.9 billion years ago!!!

Worse... the two stars supposedly mass about the same! So they would've been 6 solar mass blue giants for ~ 100 million years, but now should be white dwarfs.

Hard SF my arse! Who wrote this shit???
