The "methane" detected on Mars has very low concentrations
The concentrations of "methane" on Mars that people think(?) they detected were below the detection threshold of the Viking landers. Concentrations that small could easily have been generated by a non-biogenic process. To first assume that they actually detected methane was a stretch. Then to assume the tiny amounts of methane were biogenic was wishful thinking bordering on fantasy.
