Once again...

...you miss the point and quickly resort to demeaning and devaluing the source of inforemation rather than focussing on the content of the information itself.

The point of the report is simple. U.S. policy has resulted in huge military expenditures by the U.S. government with relatively little in the way of a return on our investment. And, according to the article that starts this thread, most Americans would agree. We have spent hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of lives in search of WMDs that didn't exist. In the meantime production and deployment of conventional weapons has skyrocketed, terrorist attacks worldwide have increased, Iran and North Korea are well on their way to producing nuclear weapons with impunity and the Lebanese just legitimized Hamas and Hezbollah by giving them landslide victories in regional democratic elections.

The problem lies in the simple fact that starting an unprovoked and pre-emptive war in Iraq on the basis of a completely failed intelligence has starved us of precious military resources and international influence. It was a bad idea and bad policy. Unfortunately, we're now stuck with it and must perservere to succeed. Thousands more American soldiers will die and billions more will be spent - all for consequences which work against the best long term interests of the American people.
