A double flare ("Iridium" type)
Every once in a while, even in this highly urbanized area where stars dimmer than 3rd magnitude aren't easy to see, I'm lucky enough to catch an Iridium flare. But I've never seen two, let alone in the same part of the sky at the same time.
Here are the parameters: Two flares moving in a diverging course, heading NNE from just north of Jupiter; 2250 CDT (approximate; I wasn't wearing my watch), separated by no more than .5 degrees before they winked out. The one to the west dimmed first.
So, what did I see -- two Iridium satellites, or one Iridium and the ISS?
