I just got a computer with a wireless modem... I also bought a wireless router so I could access the web at home... (I live in a log cabin at the end of a dirt road so I didn't think there would be a connection unless I supplied it)

Before installing my router I decided to start up the computer and see what connections were available- lo and behold at least 2 networks were available- In fact I an using one of them now..

Now here are my questions...

Can just anyone see what I am typing at this moment, and what webpages I visit?

There are 3 websites I visit whose addresses are not meant to be common knowledge- If I visit them on someone elses network are the websites known to the owner of the wireless unit?

How dangerous to my computer security is installing a wireless router?

Is it possible that my using a wireless network that someone else set up could cause them problems?

I know these are stupid questions, but computer technology is not something I have kept up on...
