Problem is, many folks don't distinguish between hypothetical ideas, simple proposals and thought pieces vs real, funded programs. Some of these concepts are physically impossible or would cost a trillion dollars or so, e.g. the rods from space BS. It's like gullible folks reading the latest NASA or somesuch 'STUDY' about a manned Mars mission and then believing it's gonna happen. Real Soon Now.
