Politically I'm a "liberal", tho ironically here in Oz the Liberal Party is the equivalent of the Republicans, but by US meaning I am definitely liberal. Decidedly pinko.

Anyway I'm a liberal and I am also for nuclear power, so the two aren't logically disjunct. Kaku however is a trained physicist who should damn well know better. If James Lovelock - the quintessential environmentalist guru himself - can back nukes then so can I.

No-nukers shit their pants over nuke weapons, but fact is they're probably the only thing that stops a hundred more little conventional wars eating up our resources. Weapons of Mass Destruction work as weapons of mass deterence too.

I guess I'm a Leftist who isn't blithely unaware of the shittiness inside human beings thanks to four billion years of darwinnowing shaping our psyches.
