re: Iran seems to be a democracy - Pakistan, a military dictatorship.

"Bush hates Iran, part of the "axis of evil", though they don't seem to have invaded any hapless countries halfway around the world.

Bush loves Pakistan, a nuclear-proliferating dictatorship.

Wonder how he rationalizes that."

The better question is how does Bowser rationalize that.

Bush doesn't hate Iran, nor does he love Pakistan. But Pakistan is working with us against the terror threat. Iran is building nukes which is a violation of their international agreements {The EU knows this, everyone knows it, other dumb doggies}.

But Iran is part of axis of evil in sense that it in an informal alliance with N Korea. And N Korea is a hell hole. If it had oil it might be less of a hell hole. It probably does have oil, but it's a hell hole which is also clueless.

Iran does not have diplomat relations with US, but this too hard for a dog to understand. N Korea is still in a state war with the US- war was halted but normal relations weren't established. And N korea still commits acts of war against S Korea. N Korea seems to think it gets a great advantage by being in constant state of war- see clueless.
N Korea was and is a client state of China- N Korea likes to lick China's butt & pretend that it's not seriously deranged.
Iran doesn't care give a lick about N Korea, other than it has weapon systems it can buy cheap- which N Korea got this technology from China, because N Korea is too stupid to develop anything. In other words N Korea is an outhouse, that eats China's shit.
