Hi LJK
I've written to him a couple of times and of late the impression I get is that he has gone from appropriate scientific scepticism about his theory to out-and-out faith in it. Not uncommon for a scientist but especially ironic considering the theory's content.
That being said I believe in its message - humans destined to expand into the Cosmos and actually having a cosmic role. I am unsure that it is at all possible for information stored to diverge asymptotically as it requires because I can't see how there can be enough matter to make actual physical bits - a criticism I thought from the first and confirmed by Seth Lloyd's analysis. Something needs to act as a physical register - conceivably a single particle might do - and I am unsure how he imagines it can be done.
