I'm intrigued by the idea of building my own Linux from scratch. The system that I'm currently running on is almost from scratch. It started out as Slackware version 9.0 . However I've been layering on so much of my own stuff and hacked the kernel so many times that there is almost nothing left of the original Slackware (It's like my Grandfather's axe). One downside is my OS is getting a little cruffty and some stuff won't install cleanly because different dynamic libraries were tossed or over-written, e.g. Kernel 2.6.x won't boot cleanly so I'm stuck at 2.4.29 .

Has anyone played with "Linux from Scratch"?
