My m-in-law once got sucked into a scam in which netzero played a part. The "salesperson" sold her on this great deal where if she paid $100 she could have free internet and access to online computer courses. I don't know why, but she paid it and they sent her a netzero disk that was designed with a browser to go to their website. Technically they hadn't lied, but they stressed the free internet, so much, that she thought that's waht she was paying for. After I told her Netzero was free (it was back then) and that she paid $100 for junk classes, she shrugged and chalked it up to lessons learned without demanding a refund. I would have done otherwise, but it was her money.

I wonder why they still call themselves netzero?
