Well, I am starting my position as moderator... I hope those that had reservations will withold judgement until you have seen how I do at the job... I have had the ability to move or hide posts for the past 24 hours... so far I have only used it on 3 posts, all by me as test posts to see how the moderator tools worked. I dont expect to have to take action often, and when I do I will try to make my actions as transparent as possible.

I will try to be fair, in fact those I disagree strongly with may be cut slightly more slack out of concern that it appears like I am using moderator power to censor those that I disagree with.

If any of you have a problem with the way I am doing, or not doing, my job I request that you feel free to voice your complaints on the community board. I will move any complaints about moderation on the space board to the community board and I will try to honestly address them there. The community board is the logical place to debate moderation style.

So far I have seen nothing that looked like it required any action on my part, although I am keeping an eye on the 'Back-contamination' thread.

I think you all will be surprised at how little things will change under my moderation...

Let me finish by just saying that we have an amazing group here, I love browsing the posts on the space board and I don't know of a better collection of professionals and enthusiasts on the web. I am proud to be a part of this group and I will try to only help the group... During space related events THIS is the place I know to come to before any news source... That is pretty impressive!

In short, keep on doing what you have been doing and please wait untill I take an official action to jump on me...
