Funny thing, CNN carried a live broadcast of Rumsfeld's opening remarks, and I was looking forward to wathcing more of the hearing. But than CNN broke away for important in depth coverage California's yearly brushfire.
When Turner sold CNN, the agreement was that his ownership percentage would be undiluted and he would retain some oversight through the board of directors. But in the Time-Warner merger that control was diminished through dilution, in agreements in which Turner had no voice.
Further, when what we left of CNN'c coverage was deemed insufficiently supportive of Israel, its mangement recieved threats by the leaders of major corporations that they would advertise elsewhere.
I think that Turner's non-compete agreement in his initial sale was effecitvely voided by the terms of the merger and the manner it was conducted in, and I am looking forward to the launch of the INN, the Internet News Network.
