Links with radical Islamists are not uncommon on the hard Left, like A.N.S.W.E.R. I will readily admit that you won't find such active support from the moderate left, which includes most liberals and almost all of the Democratic Party. The Democrats don't want the Islamists to win. They just want Bush to lose.
Usually in the U.S., it's not al Qaeda or the Iraq insurgency, but Palestinian-oriented terrorists like Hamas or others that get most of the support, and that is usually seen at rallies and protests, not so much on their websites, although a bit of research on some of the Islamic speakers at their rallies is instructive.
This outfit is British, but the discussion of how much support they should give to the terrorists is interesting.
