On Current Events, this post was serious, legitimate and appropriate.
The next post in the thread is an attempt to make fun of the original poster, as well as ridicule the import and appropriateness of the post. That comment was made on CE by an individual who also functions as a CE moderator.
And the post after that was by me and in the same vein as the post by the individual/moderator. (I will concede I could have sought this clarification prior to posting on that thread. I thought about it. That's all. Thought about it. For a short while. Very short while.)
In my opinion, my post was an appropriate response to a wiseass individual, and way, way out of line as a response to a moderator.
So, how to tell the difference? Robert Shepherd does that with the addition of the more formal full name, and as Robert when posting as, well, Robert.
If moderators are going to ridicule posts on the boards they moderate, should they not identify themselves as posting as individuals, and not as the more protected personages, moderators?
I think so.
Or, are they always protected on "their" Boards?
Arf (Bow, for once you played it fairly straight. Well, you know, every once in a while a blind hog finds an acorn.)
Pre-emptive post seeking clarification.
