Space/Science » in reply to Magnificent conjunction

re: Absolutely

No camera with me tonight, but I was driving west on I-80 from Sierras into the Central Valley. At first I doubted what I was seeing was the Venus/Mercury conjunction. I thought it might be a plane instead. It was hard to spot Mercury in the glare of Venus, but shortly, there it was, nuzzling up very close on the left of the brighter orb.

Of course, driving while star (or planet) gazing is hazardous and is not recommended. Still, it was quite a sight.

Hope you got some nice pictures, Raoul!

Cheers
